2005 E class RWD

A quick question. After the car has been sitting for a few days and you open the door, there is a humming noise under the hood. Can anyone advise?

some sort of hydrolic system maybe for the brakes or the suspention.

I'd be willing to bet it's the SBC braking system.

2009 SL550 Roadster Diamond White, 2008 CLK550 Coupe Obsidian Black

Could be the airmatic pump. I think it's under the drivers seat. I have that same buzzing some times.

thought it was behind the front bumper (driver/left side)

It's the SBC pump.

This is a good clue as to how brake pad changing on this car can be dangerous if not performed by the book.

Don't worry about it every E-Class has it, its the breaking system and its normal.
