Question Windshield Wipers

Anyone else having problems with the automatic windshield wipers?

They never seem to be in sync with the moisture on the windshield. I could have very little rain and the wipers will go on at full speed and continue at that speed until I turn it off.

I agree. Any kind of residue left on the windshield affects operation. I am not sure how a sensor would be able to tell drops of water from something that wipers cannot really remove... Perhaps store a crude IR image of windshield and if it doesn't change after a couple of wipes, stop.

Me too, exactly the same.

My 2001 C320 was much better, even though this one has more sensors. I suspect they need to rewrite their software for this.

Mine seems to be working better over time. One thing that I found works when the wipers seem to get stuck in the fast mode when they shouldn't be is to just turn the wipers off and then right back to automatic mode. I know it is a pain and you shouldn't have to do it but at least it is a solution.

Very true - OFF and ON does work.

Ditto

Vipers are a sad story. Suddenly become fast when rain is slow.
I do turn off and on and then keep on automatic mode.
But luckily does not rain a lot where I am....
(Knew before buying new E about many problems, learning to live with them...)

Same for mine.

Very spastic in intermittent mode. When misting and in intermittent mode, the mode seems to work normally but then kicks into high gear for no apperent reason. Eventually wipers will park themselves but usually AFTER windshield is wiped very dry.
