Report From Benz Heaven
Central is Benz Heaven. Yesterday at the car park opposite the Mandarin hotel I counted roughly 200 cars, roughly 125 of which were MB. (Most of the others were BMW, and the rest Porsche, Jaguar, Lexus and so on, and a few Hondas that looked terribly out of place.
Many of the cars are small - mostly E240's here. Since there are few roads you can drive fast on, why bother with power? It's more about status - an S with a one litre engine (if it existed) would still be better than a C with a V8!
Basically, in Hong Kong your status is:
S = you are a serious player
E = you are a middle manager, hoping for better times
C = if young, you are trying; if old, you are a failure
