Windscreen Chip
I got a chip in my windscreen this afternoon on my lunch run. Even before i could get back to the office to get it patched , this thing spread out to about half my entire windscreen. I need to get it replaced, should i go to the dealer and get raped or go to safelight and get a generic windscreen? i keep hearing that the wiper and light sensor may not work very well if i go generic.
Any thoughts, and how much should i look at paying to get a replacement. Insurance will not cover....

You don't have to go to a dealer to get OEM. You could have a body shop or something order the OEM one for you. Go with OEM.
I don't know if I'd take the Benz to a Safelite. ...and I wouldn't get generic glass. Look for a PPG Professional glass shop. Auto Glass is also an integral part of the body, and improperly installed, will compromise your safety. Also your windshield contains a rain sensor which must be done right. Don't forget to order the white Benz windshield sticker too.
