Pewter is one deceiving colo

First it looks like it has a tint of gold and now it looks all grey. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2405367351

Yeah, it's definitely one odd color. At times, it looks like the champagne color that MB used to have, and then it will go to gray. It's totally dependent on the lighting. Also, whether or not you have the blue-tinted windows and the color of the interior, the color of the car seems to change.

I really envy you E people who can get Tectite Gray; it's the color that my 190E 2.3-16 was, and I would have done almost (save paying AMG or MB a ton of money to carry the paint canister over to the W203 line) anything to have it.

I dislike "ambiguous" colors very much. My E is black

I have Pewter/Stone. I think that it is an absolutely fabulous color. It does look more beige/gold in some light and gray/silver in others.

That's why it took me so long to work out whether to go for the Ash or Stone interior because the color matches both and changes so dramatically.

Went for the Stone as it was more elegant and looked better in all light conditions.

I love my pewter/stone combo too especially with the burl wood but I have to say that my kids have been hard on the stone interior so far even though they really try to be careful. With all the snow and wet weather it just gets dirty and its been too cold to clean it properly. So if it were not for small children I'd have no doubts about my color choice but if I had to do it again, and I might have the opportunity depending on what happens with the Nav issues , I probably would make a color change.

We have the stone and love the look. No kids though. We did have the surfaces treated and have the car washed every week and detailed every several months. Yes, we have it "Zaino"ed. It is terrific.

What is Zaino? Do you mean Zymol?? Cause I have use Zymol for about 12 years. Great stuff. A little difficult to remove once applied, especially to a black car.

Probably charcoal Callaway, but I still think stone would look the best but with two children it is going to take too much of a beating. Oh well it will look great until then. Maybe it will continue to clean-up well and it will work out fine. Only time will tell. Hope spring comes soon!

Gregg2gs: Zaino is a car finish, that is reputed to be tops. The comments on this MB forum are all positive. Use the search function and search for posts using the name "Zaino". I know it because the fellow who washes and details our cars swears by it. He does the cars for a local collector of very collectible cars. I have total confidence in him.

The Zaino website is www.zainobros.com so you can take a look yourself.
