Main Inspection?
IN the display under malfunction it says " Main inspection performed on time " tried to look in Owner manual but cant find anything on it. Any ideas or suggestions thanks.

When my vehicle was due for state inspection for the month of September, that message popped up every time I started the engine since the first of that month. After I had the inspection done I reset the reminder for the next inspection occurrence. I used the instructions in the sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum to get to the proper menu.

I did not see it in the sticky thread Service E-Class (211) USA ,is main inspection called something else or did i just miss.

I used that thread for the instructions to get into the FSS menu only. Once I got into the FSS menu in the car I looked around in there. I found the inspection menu and set the month and year to when the inspection would need to be performed again.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I have the same thing on my E500 I just bought and jan 2012 was the date for 'general inspection'. I changed it to 2013 and confirmed the new date and I still get the same message. How can I get rid of it? I don't need E service for another 4900kms according to the computer and hate having this always come on.

That's odd. If you go into the menu now is the date for general inspection January 2013 or is it going back to 2012 after confirmation?

It would say jan 2013 for main inpection but still have the error message.

However I did get rid of it by resetting the ecu. Strange I know but if anyone has the same issue maybe try that as well
