07 E350 sound system upgrade
I will begin by upgrading the rear shelf subwofer. I will remove and install a JL audio 13 inch flat sub in the same factory location. Lots of pics coming soon...

Yeah thats me.. I miss my 745
I bought this E350 back in july.. Its that key to cure edition. On a scale from 1-10 install is probably with some experience 7-8. There is cutting involved of rear shelf to allow 13 inch sub to fit. The sound is amazing with very minimal loss of trunk space.

That is a fantastic sub...I had it installed in the front passenger footwell and powered by a JL 1000/1. Good luck and I am sure it will sound great...on my E55 we put two shallow 10"s in the same location using the rear deck...when done right it is the way to go.

We used to Exile shallow 10"s run by a STEG K203 in mono...The rear deck was kept stock except it was relined in black (vs. gray...the rest of the headliner was changed to black) alcantara and stitched out a lot more...
I think that bpautosound's setup will also be great in SQ and total volume, just from hearing the quality of the 13TW5 in my SL. I was worried about rattles but it is so tightly setup that all you hear is bass and no rattles...

if i tap into the stock sub wires and put RCA connectors on the side going to the aftermarket amp will i still need a LOC?
i dont think i will because the signal going to the OEM sub is already a low fq signal.

The great thing about this box is that I lost maybe 4 inches of trunk space. Also all original panels fit back into place with no modifications...
By the way what you guys think of my wheels??

How is the sound quality of your 13tw5? What does it sound like inside the car? I have heard that the bass on those subs are not that good but it looks like it could be the best sub for me. I like my systems loud but also clean and take up little space. What kind of problems did you run into while doing this build? I have done numerous builds ranging all the way up to 2 12" subs down the center console of my Dodge Ram but those were at my house. I am currently stationed in Hawaii but I am pretty sure that I can do it where I am at. I am just trying to get a heads up on what I can expect. Is one sub good enough or will I end up wanting 2?
