1998 e class wheels fit on 2004 e class?

hi
i have a 2004 e500 4matic and i have found a set of wheels and snow tires from a 1998 e320.

i would only use them for about 1 month per year when it snows.

anyone know if they are a direct fit?
are the 16 inch wheels big enough to clear the bigger brakes on the 2004 e500?

thank you
jeff

The older wheels are designed for 12mm (diameter of the shaft) wheel bolts and your W211 uses 14mm wheel bolts.

Even in the W211 section of the Mercedes wheel catalog, all 16-in wheels are listed as "not for E500."
