Spare tire vs. collapsible tire?

Spare tire vs. collapsible tire?
I had a flat today on my E500. Being a newbie to MB, I had to get out the manual. The manual talks quite about about inflating the collapsible tire, but I couldn't find a pump in my car. Is the collapsible tire different from the minispare wheel? Or should I have a pump in my car?
I put the spare on, but it was flat too so I had to get my own pump and fill it up. The spare is on there now and filled to 60psi, but I'm wondering if I should deflate it after I've repaired my fullsize tire. I'm also wondering if the pump is missing (I bought my e500 used).
Cheers

My car has the steel spare.
Idk if the E's came with the inflatable spare (maybe the AMG for weight saving purposes). I know the SL and SLK came with the inflatable spare because of space saving reasons.
