I can't speak for the price of an apron and tips. I'm not even sure tips are available. Are they?
I was quoted a price for an apron (bumper) and (2) mufflers, each with a single oval chrome tip. I don't have my order in front of me, but I recall something like $780 for the bumper and $1080 for the pair of mufflers.
The AMG muffler pricing actually seemed somewhat of a bargin compared to units from Brabus and Remus (although they may produce a bit more horsepower).

If you want the 5 HP and the look of "tips" you can go to pretty much any good Muffler installer and have them put on a Magnaflow system like I did. The mufflers are about $150 each, tips can be ordered in just about any dual or quad configuration at about $75 each, and you have a complete system for $450. Installation probably another $150 more. Thats what I did and it sounds, runs and I think looks great. If you don't like the look of the tips coming out from under the stock rear apron, then get the AMG apron. But spending $1400 + on a name brand muffler system is really a waste of money. The way the E500 is set up, it is a very easy install for a good muffler guy using readily available, performance muffler stock (Magnaflow, etc.).
