Failed to get my car lowered in probably the 4th attempt... first I tried to get it lowered via STAR then I was told I need lowering links. Then I got the links and the installer said they would not clear the lower suspension rail (I believe that's what he called the part) and would end up causing damage. Then I found a shop in another area of Colorado that I drove to one Friday that said they can do it via STAR (second shop I've gone to in the boonies). When I got there and hooked the car up to the computer, that it would not accept a lower ride height due to the version of the STAR software and they would have to modify existing links in their fab shop for only $25 a piece.
I would start my own thread on this but I figure I'd come to the source, what gives? Am I dealing with a bunch of incompetent morons or what? It should not be this hard to get the car lowered for God's sake.

Newbie
I have exactly same car as you '07 e550 4matic
Tried Star, only lowered by .75". Useless.
Then went and got links.
Happy end ))

An iRC module available in June, will permit three user programmable modes, controlled using an iPhone iRC app.
Paid $2800 for the Bilstein B16 iRC + $1000 install + $203 for alignment at CHMB. More may need to be spent on camber kits (still deciding between K-MAC and others)
The wait is finally over. Bilstein finally released the B16 iRC control module to compliment Bilstein B16 iRC coilover shocks I installed earlier this year making the shocks programmable using an iPhone app. Ordered and expect delivery later or very early next week. Can't wait to create/program new damper settings, instantly switchable while on the move; current system without the iRC module, has two instant settings, Comfort and Sport which are sweet but missing the middle setting. The programmable module (via smartphone app) provides infinite programming control over three modes, even while on the move; this is going to be fun. See link below.Originally Posted by pinebaron
Just got around to taking pictures, surely not as impressive as so many here but my goal was to reasonably lower the vehicle and upgrade shocks and road handling especially with at least two instantly switchable damping levels available. The touch switch is installed in the front ashtray lighter socket since I was not keen to new holes; works fine for me since I don't smoke. An iRC module available in June, will permit three user programmable modes, controlled using an iPhone iRC app.

iRC Module arrived a couple of days ago. Installed and mated (wireless) with my iPhone and ipod Touch; the module generates a WiFi signal for connecting to an Apple or Android device. I'll end up permanently installing an iPod Touch in the car to act as a live suspension display and controller; need to figure out exactly where, somewhere that does not clutter my uncluttered console, ideas anyone?Originally Posted by pinebaron

Spoke to Bilstein today and confirmed, in the absence of a signal/connection with a mobile controlling device such as an iPhone etc., existing Comfort/Sport buttons remain active, which is great. I have yet to 'Calibrate' the iRC module which requires driving around (one time) for several miles including driving around turns, sharp turns and bumps etc.; the weather has been terrible in NJ hence it needs to wait till after Thanksgiving.

just this past week i got it, it's actually the owner of stutgart autohaus' car. he had two i asked if he would sell one and he said yea lol so i know it is well taken care of

i seen that video before i don't like the wheel choice, but i am going to re-paint and bag it as is. i have a friend out in the UK and he is in the military so i get state side shipping prices from him for things all the way out there. just gonna get the edm headlights and tails, maybe the rear fog and just clean it up and bag it.
this is my boy's RHD in LA, ****s real nice and probably a good chunk of the reason i bought the 108 over the 220

Agreed, it is an expensive setup from top to bottom, with no expense spared, but if you have a W211 with a standard suspension (not air), use larger wheels (18+), need a better ride, have deep pockets (perhaps a very generous Xmas bonus), this is worth every cent. I'll start a dedicated thread if I have time to take pictures of the real time damping system in action (on the iPhone app).
