May have something to do with how I lowered and by how much, plus K-Mac camber kit and 15mm spacers made to order, to get the flush look.
Need a new front bumper to complete the look and that's next.

Question for the aggressive fitment guys - FromM3toE55, DarkieJohn, 09w211 feel free to weigh in here.

I'm about to lay some lumber on a custom made set of SSR's. I have two options for the rear to get the 92mm step lip I'm trying to accomplish. Both fall into a 'gray area' of body modifications. I'm trying to avoid having to pull the rear fenders. I'm going with 19's and lowering the car after the wheels are on. My choices for the rear are 10" wide with a 37 offset, or 10.5" with a 43 offset.

Anyone know which is less likely to be a problem with a stock body 08 E63? The extra 1/2" on the 10.5 is all on the inside with that offset, so it may allow me to pull the tire in a little more than the 10. Any thoughts or advice you guys could give me would be much appreciated. No refunds for custom builds, so I want to make the right decision.

^ that's not very aggressive at all

biggest thing though when people ask about fitment is ride height, gotta add that or you will get a lot of misguided info

but you can def take either of those options and not have to do any body work, i'm at 11 +25 and i had to pull maybe only half an inch, if you're looking for a big lip i would take the 10.5 and drop the off set by 30mm ish. what size tires are you running? i think more so than wheel spec the tires are going to have a lot to do with if you're gonna have to pull it or not, if you're not willing to stretch you won't get a good fitment

Hey Crafty, thanks for the response. I'm thinking 275 on the tires. I'm willing to pull the tires a bit, but I'm not looking for that overstretched hellafllush look where the whole lip is exposed. Don't mind it on show cars, but I'm trying to maintain my car's daily performance to some degree.

275/35? that's a big tire, are you going for a flush fitment? how low is your car going to be? are you looking to tuck tire? willing to run camber?

stretched is fine, people hype up the dangers all crazy... within moderation is ok but when you have a decent amount of barrel showing and what not that's a different story. my 211 is daily driven on 9.5 w/ 215's and 11 w/ 245's and have not had a single problem, really just depends on how well you take of your car

I agree completely. I've seen other threads on here where people were crucified for their wheel/tire choice. I go with the Maurice from Boogie Nights ideology, "Wear what ya dig."
I know the 'dangers' of aggressive setups are completely exaggerated over the web. Though show people a trend, and there will be those who try to push the envelope and perhaps 'overdo' it.

I'm trying to get them flush and somewhat square with minimal camber. Not opposed to a slight camber, just don't want that 1 month inner tire wear, and don't like the looks of heavy camber on a non-show car. I'm looking to maybe take the car down an inch with links. If I get a little tire tuck out of the whole setup, I wouldn't be mad at that at all! Just trying to avoid rear 1/4 rub. I like the way FromM3toE55's ride sits, that would work for me.

haha that was probably me! one reason i am no longer on this forum or any other benz forum to be honest. to many 'enthusiasts' on here knew what was best for 'me'

i've said it a million times and finally just gave up, not sure how you can consider yourself a car person and not be able to appreciate all cars for the work put in, whether it's your style or not.

doesn't sound like you're trying to go too low, biggest thing is just going to be clearing the tire obviously. at 10.5 or even 10 you can def run a much more narrow tire without stretching aggressively. once you start tucking a lot of tire the stretch becomes more necessary, would love to give you more info and an opinion on size, but at that height i would talk to one of the other guys closer to that height.
