Gotta love the Disclaimer

MB-055-KT
Made with enhanced micro-weaved Grade A hand-laid fiberglass. The micro-weave structure provides maximum stability and flexibility to the fiberglass allowing for a custom fitment.

Made to order, ships unpainted and may require some modifications and/or drilling.

I would look for a used kit before I would buy a replica kit that requires hacking to make it fit

Good Luck on your search

I agree. It's a pain to struggle with fitting aftermarket body parts. The headaches offset any cost savings.

Do what Mark says and stick with OEM. You'll be waaaay better off.

2 lines of text on the details? Really? I don't understand companies that sell a $1500 item and all they give you is 2 lines of information. Are you kidding? That alone would make me run away from it. I don't know much about micro-weaved class A fiberglass, but I have worked on cars enough to know that fiberglass on bumpers is a recipe for disaster. You need flexible material in order to withstand any kind of bump. All fiberglass I have seen ends up cracking, as you can witness on many low price imports with coffee-can sized exhausts.

And what about the grilles, inserts, foglamps, wires, foam, mounting screws, etc. They just do not give any information on what comes with the kit at all. The bumper covers and side skirts can be found at a junk yard if you look hard enough and be patient (I got a rear door shell for my W211 for $150.00), that will give you OEM quality at reasonable prices (maybe even less than $1500), you still have to paint, fit and get the required accessories to complete the package.

The posts above clearly tell you what you need to know.

Cheers.

While it may be more expensive to go the OEM route I'm sure you would not regret it. As everyone has stated before, the extra labor needed to cut and trim the kit to fit properly could run you extra $ in hours to install. If you're installing it yourself I guess that is fine but any bump or scrape will definitely crack your bumpers requiring a patch and repaint. Do yourself a favor and save up the cash to get it done right. You drive a first rate sedan, don't cheapen it up by putting 2nd rate parts on it. Just my two cents here.

Has anyone ever attempted to attach an aftermarket quad diffuser to a non-AMG rear bumper? As seen in the picture below, forum member "Pearlpower" attached his quad diffuser with screws (although he has an OEM AMG bumper). Just curious to see how it looks.

That's exactly what I was thinking about doing too. I know there are a few owners with both AMG and non-AMG w211s. Maybe we can recruit someone to take a closer look.
