Hamburg Technich Ball Joints

Hey, I'm about to change the upper and lower ball joints on my 03 e320. I bought a ball joint separator and a tool to press the ball joint in and out. I bought the upper ball joints from the dealer at $80 a piece and the lowers were $110 a piece!!!. I found the lowers for much cheaper on ebay from a supplier called hamburg technic for only $50 a piece. Anyone know if it is a reputablet company or just crap??? Pics of the removal/install will follow, just not sure if I should bite the bullet at the dealer or get the cheaper ones

Do a search on hamburg technic and you will find the information.

This search will lead you to a shhhhhhhhhh.. Bimmer site with guys covering their experience with these parts.

BTW take photos of the job and help others by doing a write up on the work.

Hope you haven't bought the lower joints yet.

just a little side note. I just did my lower ball joint on my right side too and i just rented the tools from kraigen (autozone has it too). It was free and you just have to return everything back by a certain time. The tools arn't exactly the same thing as the one your looking for ( Trust me i was considering buying that part too) but it does the job right you just need to remove your rotars and the dust shield to have more clearance space.

you can get the ball joints from http://www.autohausaz.com/ for under $40 a piece. I've bought lots of stuff from this place; most of their stuff are OEM.
