Newb Here with Foglamp Failure Problem.

This is my first post here, I am posting on behalf of my father who drives the w211. He purchased the car second-hand with a Brabus front bumper installed that had dual fog lights per side. One for high beam, and one for low. The installers tied them in together, causing electrical issues. Now none of the fog lights light up, the driver's side dims on for approximately one second before cutting out, tripping the dash warning. I am afraid the lamp failure control module has been shorted, but I can not find the part number or part anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help will be appreciated.

It could be the xenon control unit or the front SAM, you can browse parts from EPC like here:

I guess the "installers" removed their short circuit? Since this was a Brabus part, it is difficult to figure out what it consists of, you should ask from the part supplier but are you sure it had fogs separately for low and high beams? Does not make any sense to me. Can you post a photo?

Welcome to the forum.

This is not my father's car, but it is the same bumper. From what I remember, the outside set is for high beams, and the inside set is for low beams; but I am positive that they are both for separate high/low beam use. Both sets were wired together originally, which may have shorted a board out due to the extra amps.

That has been done already, the problem now is that the module that controls the lights is fried and they don't turn on; rather they flicker to dim light then shut off. Is it the SAM that controls them?
