Error Establishing Cd Audio Connection

Pulled into garage at work thursday and turned the car off while listening to the end of a song on the 6-disk changer, when i hear "crack" sound and then the music stopped and "Error Establishing Cd Audio Connection" is displayed. opened the panel to the changer and no lights and could not eject CDs.

So today i decided to try and fix. First removed fuse #6 in trunk, but to no avail, next tried the fuses in the side of the dash driver's side. there is one for the gateway and the cd-changer. Removed both for a minute or 2 then re-installed, i immediately heard the changer start to cycle through its check for CDs and the lights were on, and it works!!.

So if you are experiencing this you may want to give this a try......

Not sure if you have an Audio50 or a COMAND it being a 2003, but there are several software updates out for the COMAND that may prevent that from happening in the future.

yep audio 50 try pulling the fuse i reference above. Every once in a while i still get that "static" sound for a few minutes, but turning the radio off for a minute or so fixes it, and it never does when the car is in for service....
