Bought a CPO, dealer refuses to let me view VMI

Mercedes was offering 12k trunk money at the time. Plus 5k fleet discoutn and 3k from dealer.
What is the deal with trunk money....?

Depending on when you purchased, there was quite a bit of money back at the time. I find it hard to believer you paid $40.5k when the best we were able to ever do was around $44k+ taxes and fees. Most 2008 E350's that are CPO'd and low miles are going for the upper $30k's nowadays. Plus the 1.99% financing has helped as well

I got a new 2009 E63 with a MSRP of 97k for the price of an E550. That was in May of last year. At the end of the summer people were doing 30k off MSRP. Do a search here "2009 E63 discounts" on the AMG boards.

CPO 08 E350 4MATIC AMG SPORT/P2... totaled 05 e320 4matic R.I.P. 12/04 - 2/10
well guys, got my car back from the dealer this evening: after a FULL week there, in 3/15 out 3/23
just took delivery of it on 3/12
here are some items they repaired...
1) Owner states the keyless go unlock is inop from left frt door handle,
when handle is pulled the door will lock instead of unlock.
"Faulty L/F Door handle. Read/Clear codes set.
R/R Handle for testing. Performed OHMS test too handle between
pin #3 and #4 of door release handle. Lock Button 470 OHMS. Unlock
Button=10.1 Meg. OHMS and unstable. Replaced L/F Outer Door Handle.
Parts: 1 211-760-11-70-9040 handle
4 912010-005001 Washer
2) Both wiper blades replaced
"Worn Wiper Blades, Replaced two wiper blades."
Parts: 1 211-820-21-45
3) Customer states brake pedal is traveling too far, hard to stop the car.
CK & ADV
"Renew brake fluid.... Remove reservoir and reinstall with new grommets"
Parts: 2 000-431-15-50-64 Bushing
1 000-989-08-07-01 brake fluid
"Service due. Performed Brake Flush Service"
4) Cx states the rain sensor wipers will not come back to a slow speed
after going to high speed in heavy rain. Once rain subsides the wipers
stay at high speed. Has to shut car off to reset
"Perform adaptation to the rain sensor"
"Relearn rain sensor. Read/Clear Codes. No Codes Set.
Performed Adaption with SDS"
5) Owner states at hwy speeds he is getting a vibration in the car CK & ADV
"balance three tires"
"mount and balance one tire"
"R/F Wheel bent. balance remaining 3 wheels. Balance 3 Tires.
Demount/Remount R/F tire for Wheel Straightening."
6) Owner states car pulls to the left CK & ADV
"Vehicle has aggressive tires that adhere to road crown"
"Performed alignment"
7) owner states command unit volume knob has a white substance surround
the grooves on the knob
"Dirt/Food on knob" from previous owner
Tech went ahead and cleaned the volume knob.
8) Owner states the right rear door sunshade plastic lining is peeling apart.
"Check and replace the right rear door panel"
Parts: 1 211-810-04-20-9B51 Roller Blind
1 211-730-88-70-9E22 Panelling
"Fabric of shade coming apart. SUN SHADE WAS GLUED INTO DOOR PANEL. R/R RIGHT REAR DOOR PANEL TO REPLACE SUN SHADE. FOUND SUN SHADE GLUED IN WHICH NECESSITATED REPLACEMENT OF DOOR PANEL DUE TO GLUE."
Still cant believe that part ^^^

man as soon as i would of seen that service report I'd be asking to return the car .. Just seems like too many issues for an 08' .. prev owner must of not gave 2 sh*ts for the car ..

thats how i'm feeling now...
apparently previous owner leased it new in feb of 2008 in new jersey and returned it after his 24 month lease ended last month in feb.
I got in touch with MB customer relations again today... case manager will be giving me a call back tomorrow midday.

It seems to me that the dealer didn't do the CPO inspection at all. How could they not replace the 2-yr old wipers? They probably charged MB for the CPO inspection fee that never occurred, and try to cash in on future CPO warranty works.

24 month lease .. could be a MB employee. MB employees get 24 month leases I believe and if you're returning a car in 2 yrs, why would you care two craps about it.
With all the stuff to fix, basically the CPO "contract" has been breached by MB. Try and get as much as you can out of them.

I would definitely milk all the service I could out of this, because one well known fact is, that a CPO car fetches a few more thousand due to it's "certified status". From what the OP states as what the problems are, it is anything but certified.
I bought 2 of my MB's non CPO and they were in much better condition (pristine pretty much) than when I bought the E320 I have that was a CPO. Go figure, just goes to to show you must stay on top of these types of things, trust nothing.
