The black hard plastic cap on the outer tip of the wipers on my 209 (should be the same on 211) seem very close to touching the glass especially on the passenger side, drivers is quite close as well just not as bad. Would some of you be kind enough to check your cars and tell me if you notice the same thing? I'm worried about that hard plastic tip coming in contact with the glass scratching the windshield especially once the rubber wears down a little bit.

my blades tips are up the thickness of the blade itself. It does look that if (when) the blade wears way down, the tip could contact the windshield, but it appears that the blades would need to be "all gone".
Perhaps that is to help us be sure to have nice new safe blades?

Thanks Doug. Well I went by the dealer to check out some other cars to compare to mine and the E class 211 has a different wiper set up than the CLK's the E's are more like the SL's. The E class's inserts stand upright and don't fold over like the CLK's preventing the end cap to possibly touch the glass....good news for you 211 pilots

Also I made mention of an engine cooling fan vibration when the temp gets very hot in my 209(again I figuered the design would be the same in both cars), more good news for 211'ers, the cooling fan in the E is the same design as the SL which is far superior in design than in the new CLK and is much more secure in the way it is fitted to the car.
