i've seen a black grille on black which looks nice but does anyone have pics of a black facelifted grille on a light color? i don't think i've seen this yet.

my buddy got me a face lifted grille so i have one piece of my 63 conversion if i go that route but given that the grille is bigger then ther previous w211 grille i think it might look out of place on a white car...

well the w212 has a big grille like the facelifted w211 and here's a white one done up with a black grille, not sure how i feel about the grille

Eesh, the 212 is not looking good, just can't get my eyes to make sense of the styling. That damn clamshell hood shutline is such a distraction too....

Sorry though, can't help ya, haven't seen an y F.L's with black grille's. Weird now that I think about it, so many pre F.L's have it?

only face lifts i've seen they painted the grille body color....since it's a bigger bulky grille compared to the smaller w211 non F.L i think it wouldn't look good in black....

Weirdest thing, today driving, I look in my rearview and see a black W211 E63 with a blacked out grille. I gotta say, I like the elegant look of the chrome more (meaning I'm not into painted grilles really), but it looks WICKED, very sinister, just mean as hell. It was next to a W124 too, I wish I had a camera.

i have a few pics of black with the black grille and on black it looks evil but not on a silver or white....w211 i'm looking to get will be either white, silver or black but i remember how hard it was to keep black clean but when clean it looks nice..

Man, the Face-Lift front grille on the 211 is absolutely a masterpiece, like a total modern-classic M-B look.

i' m not sold on white on white, too 80's for me...lol

but yes the black looks great....i'm leaning more towards a black w211 either though i remember how much of a pain was to keep clean

Yeah, I know what you mean. One of the only colors I refuse to own is Black, I seem to be in the minority in thinking it doesn't bring out the best in a good design anyway (hides the lines, etc.), so it makes it really easy for me to stay away.

Hmm, I haven't thought about that actually. I think it might look pretty sick, but I'd think the rest of the car would have to have a black theme to really tie it in? Like tinted tails, wheels, certain lights, windows, etc. I'd love to see how it looks though.

Alright.....please excuse my ignorance but what exactly are you meaning by "facelift grilles or facelifted models"? New to the Benz world. Just bought an '07 e350 Sport (white w/ black leather)and I love it. Looking for a black stock replacement grill for it or a black custom grille with chrome tip without the giant mercedes medallion in it. Also looking for black replacement hood ornament and rear deck lid emblem.

The W212 looks like a Honda Accord (not bad, just not good) and the black grill just makes it look even worse. Like you have not gotten around to paining it. On a black car, it might be OK, but with white body color...ugh!

Any updates on the white facelifted W211's with a black grille?

I'm still on the fence regarding the black grille. It looked good on AW E60's but it just doesn't look right on arctic white W211's..

If there's anyone still active on these forums please feel free to chime in...

Kinda leaning towards keeping my grille stock as there's just too much damn chrome on this car to fit the theme. (moldings, trunk bar, grille, badges, etc.)

Might just look for a stock style grille with no badge on it as it looks weird with a flat hood badge + flat grille badge.

May be picking up some wheels with a chrome lip so hoping it all comes together nicely.

Any pictures of AW W211's with tint and light smoke tails?
