question about 39k service
I have never replaced any of the filter listed on 20k also.
So far I notice that there is quite a few filter to change
-engine compartment-replace engine air-cleaner insert
-engine compartment-replace combination filter
-engine filter
-automatic transmission-oil and filter change
1. My question is where is the best place to purchase the filter that has a competitive pricing. Do you guys stick with OEM or aftermarket brand is fine?
2. What kind of brake fluid (dot4) and transmission fluid do you guys purchase?
3. Is there anything else I am missing in my 39k service?
Thank you in advance.
Examples are Mann filters
Behr electrical and cooling parts
Several different brake pads companies.
My 211 is a 5 speed so I have serviced t. Your 7 speed? has no sump drain and is difficult / impractical to self service. The dealers and independents (some) have an extractor that pulls the fluid and replaces it all from the same service port. The other filters should be pretty easy to DIY

How many liter of brake fluid is required for the E550 including flushing out the old one? Would it be OK if I use ATE super blue dot 4 on the E550?
Yes, my car is a 7 speed. So does this mean I need a extractor and suck the fluid out of the dip stick? How many liter do I need to purchase for the transmission fluid? Also the transmission fluid requires the filter? Elringklinger part #: 2202770695
thank you for the links. Will purchase from authoausaz. Seems easy to use their site compared to parts.com
Suck as much of the old fluid out of the reservoir as you can without introducing air. Keep topping off with the new stuff. Should be a different (clearer) color at the bleed fitting.
As for the tranny, 7 speed is out of my league. The older tranny holds about 9 liters but even it will only drop about 4-5 liters. The rest remains trapped in the torque converter. The W- 211 tranny does not have a tapped plug in the TC. So I really only exchanged about 1/2 the fluid. Clearly a dealer flush is superior (but more money) I really think that you ought to stay away from this unless you have the equipment. I don't know but I believe the 7 speed has a side mounted plug that is used for extracting and fill. The 5 speed fluid was about $16 / liter plus freight.
