Radio Turns On But Doesn't Actually Work

This may be as simple as waiting for my new cd changer to arrive but still I will ask.

This past weekend, I pulled my car apart to wire in my Laser Jammer, while at it I temporaily removed the 6disc cd changer since it died a long while back and the phone system from the armrest since I dont use it. Now when I turn on the radio all it does is display the Mercedes-Benz and on the dash under the audio menu it displays some dashes.

Is all this caused simply because I have those two fiber optic cables, which go into the changer that are no longer connected?

Thanks

The loop needs to be complete. An open, like you have now, most likely is the cause here.

Now a 2007 E350 4matic
yes it is.. the fiberoptic is a closed loop.. you now have an opening in it. either reinstall the old changer or ride without radio till the new one arrives.
