Tire replacement advice
Need advice. I have an '06 E350 4Matic with conti pros. (OEM 16s). Need to replace NOW. My buddy just put Goodyear tripple treads on his similar mb and the tread width is noticeably narrower. I don't want that. Current Conti Pro-contacts are OEM 225 55R16 (99H).
Need to make decision today.

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 on my 335. I've had Hankooks ventus, Falken, PS2 and got to say the GS-D3 definitely is one of the best.
I am also looking for new tires for my E550 but the GS-D3 are a bit pricey for me. I am looking at the Bridgestones RE960 right now.

Hard to recommend a tire w/o knowing your driving style and climate. If you have a 4matic, I'm guessing summer rubber is not a good call for you.

Made a choice........
Thanks all for the advice. I had decided early on that I would not replace the OEM Contis with another set of Contis. They only lasted 20K and I've never burned through tires that fast. They also lost their tracking ability after about 15K.
After much reading, listening to other owners of 4Matic 211s, and reviewing a ton of comparisons, I bought a set of Toyo TourEvos. I think it was their great reviews and tread paterns that did it. I live in the extreme northwest corner of the country and am surrounded by mountains and mountain passes............so A/S were a must.
Have put about 500 miles on them in the last several days and so far I'm very pleased with the tracking, handling on both dry and very wet in wind gusts up to 60mph at freeway speeds. They are also noticeably quieter and smoother than the contis.
My second choice would have been Goodyear Triple treads.
