Installing PIAA Extreme White Bulbs

Per Crazy4Car's specifications to try and match the color of my bi-xenon headlights with my parking lights, high beams and fog lights I installed PIAA platinum part #19169 for my parking lights. I also installed the H7 PIAA Xtreme White plus for my high beams. Unfortunately, when the technician tried to install the PIAA 9006 Extreme White Plus foglamps he said he could not do it because the PIAA "feets" (clamps) were located on the outside of the foglights whereas the OEM were located on the inside of the foglights. In short the technician said he could not install the 9006 foglights unless you "tape" them on. Does anyone have suggestions on how to install foglights to match the bi-xenon? TIA

Where did you get the PIAA H7 Extreme White Plus?

That 9006 install problem sound weird. If the factory fog light is 9006 then all 9006 bulbs fit. Double check the size bulb needed. Taping a bulb to fit sounds silly.

Crazy4Cars has the AMG Sport Package like the upcoming E55 and the fog lights are projector beam are not the same as standard E-Class foglights.

Thanks for the input. I got the H7 and all other PIAA light bulbs from www.islandmotorsports.com--and they also installed the bulbs. The 9006 bulb however is the problem. The technician said he has never seen the OEM bulbs with "feet" inside the foglight assembly. As a result, there are no aftermarket (white/blue) bulbs that he is aware of that can fit in my foglight housing. I only have the regular sport package, not Crazy4Cars' E55 sport package. Any suggestions?

After going to another tuning shop (www.d2technik.com) they said that the PIAA bulb to fit the W211 foglight is H11 and not 9006. Just FYI for others changing halogen bulbs to match bi-xenon color. BTW, I bought a staggered set of 19" Lowenhart LD1 from D2.

Joseesg, New wheels! That's great!. Lets see the pictures.

I had a feeling that that foglight bulb was not a 9006. Did you find a "Superwhite" or upgrade bulb in H11?

Kev,

I am having the wheels put on either today or this weekend--so I'll post pics after that. D2technik says that their aftermarket bulbs (not PIAA) for H11 have better color and lasts longer than PIAA. When I get the manufacturer name I will post it.

Posted some pictures of my ride in the picture thread at the beginning of the W211 forum. Of course, I will be going in this weekend at D2technik.com to install the airmatic module to lower the car and bridge the horrendous "gap".

W212 E350 AMG E63 Pack.
Jose: Your car looks good but could have look better. I have a question for you. Did they sell you 19x8.5 ET31 and 19x9.5 ET31.
I saw your rear wheel and to me it looks like it is a ET35.
Also, what size of tires did they sell you.

In order to achive the look that you saw ony car, you needed
245/35/19 285/30/19.

Take a look.

Enrique

I don't know the offset they sold me, all I know are the sizes and they represented to me that it would fit without rubbing. The tires in the set are 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. Yes I would like the 245 and 285 combo like you have, but when I went to the showroom they already had the set mounted and balanced and told me that I would get a "killer" deal if I bought it like that. In any event, within a year I'll most likely upgrade to 245 and 285. BTW, how can you tell the offset by looking at the wheels?

Jo i have question... If you have bi xenon does that mean that your high beam is xenon too? which one is the parking light? the small lamp or the big one?

SF that post by Mellow is right. You actually have two high beams (xenon and H7 bulb). The H7 bulb is located above the parking light in the two housings nearest the grill. If you are planning on changing your halogen (yellow) bulbs to PIAA (bluish/white) bulbs, then make sure you get the correct bulbs. Of course the high beams are H7, foglights are H11 and while I have PIAA 9169 bulbs for the parking, I think someone else said they called PIAA and the rep told them to get another bulb number to match the bi-xenon. You can look at past threads but I think the poster was "mkaab" or something like that.

SF: What's $20-$40 to change your fog lights to get H11 bulbs? If you use your "auto" light function, then the fog lights turn on when you lock your vehicle. It looks tacky to have xenon color and halogen yellow. Just my humble opinion. BTW, did you get to lower your car yet? I'd like to see some pics.

Well, all.... it's mkassab and the parking bulb you want is the PIAA Xtreme White 19172. Boiught mine at www.xtremewhite.com for $14.95 +s&h. .... Mark

PS: you'll also want the PIAA H7 for the HiBeam in XtremeWhite Plus/XTRA (H-218). Fond them at www.bavauto.com for $79.95 +s&h
I couldn't find the H11 fog light bulb that gave the "blue tint" look!
