I'm new as well to this forum and 'searched' for most, if not all of my questions...Just reading your questions, I know for a fact that you can find some answers in the forum.....

1) Yes.
2) H7.
7) You can purchase LED Bulbs, rather than purchasing an HID kit.
8) Do you have the AMG package or Regular Sports? Try JBSPEED, a sponsor here!

These are all the answers that I know...Anyhow welcome and GL!!

Sell it and get a real E55. With those options you want.

Common guys/gals. The guy has honest questions and very nice going about asking for your help. Don't "slam" him. If you can't help to answer his question then let others do. He even thanks at the end.

"Slamming?" Who's slamming?

The point is why buy a 2007 E350 when he can get a CPO used 03-05 E55 for close to the same price with the factory options he wants? That seems to be what the OP wants in the first place?

The expense that he'll end up with after he tries to "upgrade" will be more then it's worth. And any resale on the modified E350 will be close to worthless. Resale is low as it is, and Frankenstein mods like that will only limit any buyer base.

Read his list. It just just doesn't make economic sense, imho.

Why not just get a 55?

Not everyone wants the high power E55, not to mention the high cost of maintenance and repairs, and poor gas mileage. I won't want to commute to work every day in a E55/E63.

Thats not true, the MPG is not that big different. I used to have a E500 and it was only less 2MPG different compare to my E55. And my 55 is heavier than my E500 not only the engine also extra 80Lbs of Pano-roof.
If you want the look of E55 just go for E55. BTW, to switch the front seats are complicated. Most of 55 has Dynamic/Massage Seat. With all the money dumping in E350 why not just get E55.

+1

The mpg can be excellent if you drive like your grandma. I can get 17-19 in the city and 23 on the freeway. If you like to drive hard, then sure, the mpg can go down. But the cars are very civilized and make ideal commuters. Just a lot more fun when you want it. The mpg scares people off. But the E350 isn't exactly a gas miser itself.

Only more expensive maintenance is the performance brakes on the E63. Airmatic isn't "maintenance."

Yep, the front seats aren't that simple to retro-fit. Plus a fold down rear bench seat retrofit and a "roof overlay" (whatever that means.) Buy a 55 and call it a day.

It's sad that you just bought the car and already want to change the body. I'm all for customization or modding...but still.
Definitely learn to use the search function, OP. It's a great way to learn a lot about your subject and more. In many cases you'll have the answer much quicker than making a new topic about it

Read bold below and welcome

Yes
2) i want HID for fogs and high beams do i need nething like resistors so i dont get codes and what are the bulb size
Depends on which bulbs you buy
3)can i change my back seats to the fold down???
Yes
4) i am getting the e55 seats from another member can i put these on mine? and if so how can i connect the cooled seats?
Yes, you'll need new modules, etc.
5) where can i get a roof overlay? has anyone done this?
Any vinyl shop should be able to do it. Google with your zip code
6) has anyone changed the radio on this car? if so which one and any pics?
Which one do you have now?
7) has anyone done HIDs in the reverse lights?
Don't know
8) any front lips for this car?
Not for yours but once you do the front end conversion, yes.

Thats about everything thanks in advance for the answers.

The OP has an '07 E350 which should be a little better MPG than the E500/550 which should be better than the E55/63. Also, his insurance should be cheaper than an AMG. We don't know if his vehicle is RWD or 4matic which could negate the AMG choice as well.

Dont expect E350 has good MPG compare to E500/E550
They all have 7speed, even my E500 was 7Speed and only 2MPG different.
If thinking too much about insurance or even MPG then Mercedes might not be the best car.

Maybe I am the minority, but I don't agree with this one. Should the people that opt for DIY instead of gonig to the dealer look for a different car? Imagine if every time someone posted a DIY link, someone was there to say that maybe the Mercedes wasn't the right car for them.

7 speed is for hwy driving. My E500 is getting 25MPG on hwy, and 15MPG in city. If you drive around San Francisco, you'll get ~13MPG. All this V8 power is wasted doing nothing while idling at traffic lights and going under 1500RPM from one traffic light to the next. I won't be surprised if the E500/E550 is getting the same MPG as the E350 on the hwy.

Insurace and gas per year is really only going to be a difference of a few hundred dollars whereas DIY repairs can, potentially, be in the thousands if done at the dealership. DIYs are also seen by many as a hobby. We work on our cars not because we have to, but because we like to
