radio no longer turns off when the car is off
I have an 04 with the HK system.
When I turn off my car and take the keys out the radio remain on. It still response to key press but now the screen is stuck at the AMG logo (Euro Command)

I've been dealing with a similar problem, but my radio doesn't get past the Star logo. From what I've learned about the audio system, I suspect your problem is either the COMAND, something on the MOST bus malfunctioning or you've got a power to wakeup line short.
The COMAND shares a wakeup line with the Audio Gateway (AGW), Navigation DVD, Phone, Satellite Radio, Voice Control and 6 CD Changer. Some of these items can set the wakeup line to 12 V, when one does the audio system powers on. Since your system wont power down, one of these devices is either asserting the wakeup line, power is getting onto the line from a short, or the COMAND itself is broken.
I'm not sure about this, but if something was setting the wakeup line to 12 V I'd expect the entire audio system to function when you remove the key. If that was the case the COMAND wouldn't get stuck at the AWG screen (it only does that if it can't communicate with the other audio components.) Now I'm leaning towards believing your COMAND is broken.
The COMAND is very easy to remove and replace yourself. However, I'd borrow one from a friends car to see if that fixes it before buying a new one. It takes an hour to remove the COMAND the first time you do it, but only about five minutes after that.
