Well they finally replaced my key yesterday evening. I can confirm the key was the problem.

I will say I'll never use that dealer again. Having to escalate to corporate just to get a call back from the service manager was really uncalled for. There's another dealer that's only about 15 minutes further away that will get all my future business.

They did bring the key to me at least - the service manager was "passing through" and offered to drop it off.

Only two weeks to get the key after they agreed to replace it...

Am glad this saga is finally over.

Fire that incompetent and willfully ignorant dealership and take your business elsewhere. Am flabbergasted that it took all this while and the hoops you had to jump just to get the key changed. Couldn’t they have known this all the while the root-cause was the key? Members on this forum diagnosed the issue “light years” away and they were right the first time.

I love the Lexus brand, though it’s not my first choice, but at least they treat their customers the best!!!
