lol e63! but you can't just compare price there are so much more things. but ya 63 ftw. i don't care if it's the old model. lol, i've been reading people that have dynoed their w212 63 with MCT and they actually were slower than the 7 speed AMG w211 63. lol

Would you rather have a slightly used CPO'd M5 or a new 528i?
Different animals altogether.
fwiw, I had a 2009 W211 350 that I sold for a 2009 W211 E63. Night and day difference not only in usable torque and lots of hp, but with massive brakes, tighter steering, an AMG tuned tranny and tuned suspension. Then there are the seats: heavily bolstered, soft Napa leather, electronic lumbar and bolster adjustments, etc..
Sure the W212 is brand new, but the two cars are still miles apart from each other. If you want basic daily transport, then go with the W212. If you want basic daily transport while killing bugs just for fun and burning up lots of gasoline, then go with the E63. It's entertainment on wheels.

This is an interesting one, as they are at the same price.
You put the two cars together, take styling out of play (subjective, but I think it's more than arguable that especially for an old body, the W211 holds up very well next to its successor, chalk that up to them having completely different characters through and through though), and take away caring about having the most current body, and there's no way the friggin' E63 AMG in any way pales in comparison with the plebeian E350.
Pro's for the W212 E350: More solid/safe (more advanced high strength steels and more of it, better torsional rigidity, more advanced engineering (or so we'd expect of course), new Body (if you care), much better MPG, more Reliable/easy to own, better Warranty, physically and literally a newer car.
Pro's for the E63: Everything else.
I'm selling my E-Class (finally decided it's time), I LOVE the car, but I just feel I want to jump up a step for my "Garage Queen". I love the W211 body, so I'm really considering an E63, but I have been cross-shopping the new E350 for the hell of it, along with lots of other cars, only thing going against the W211 E63 for me is that since I've already owned the Body for almost 2 years, it's kind of a "been there done that" thing in a way.... but I dunno. What I really want is a W221. But even the E63 puts up a helluva fight against that.

OH! And another thing. If you're younger, no family (i.e you don't really require the functionality of a Reliable gas sipping 4-Door so much), and Test Drive both cars, I think one would have to be crazy to choose an E350 over an E63, any body VS any body, after getting out of both. Once I get out of my car, I'm incredibly eager to go Test Drive all these cars, and guess which one I'm most excited about?

E63 obviously. No contest. If you picked the other, assuming cost of maintenance is not an issue, then you might need testosterone therapy .. at the least, get a blood sample sent in to a lab to check.

definitely the 350. You really don't notice the extra 300 hp; the brakes may look big but they squeal and don't stop you any quicker and honestly, if the AMG was so special they wouldn't sell the badges on ebay for 15.00. Mercedes just uses the badging to up sell customers but it really doesn't mean anything in the real world.

it has the two footed/ghost problem. in highway traffic or in parking lots, going about 5 - 10 mph, the car jerks back and forth. after tranny was replaced at 47k miles under warranty due to glycol, it was fine, but came back now at 67k miles. just got the car back from my mechanic after service c and he says it's that the transmission computer needs to be replaced
