Is this a good car?

Hi all,
What's a fair price for this car? This is not a MB CPO but I found this at a private lot close to my house. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is by first MB so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time and comments

Is it the color combo you want? Does it have the options you want? Is it the car you want?

Is the price competitive to others exactly like it? Look in Autotrader, etc..

If so, then be certain to get a ppi before you buy.

There are a million of these cars out there, coming off lease (like this one.) Why not just get one off of a MB dealer with a full extended warranty.

There's nothing wrong with the year and model, if that's what you are asking.

I paid $29,500 in March for the same car in black with slightly more miles and P2 if that helps. Non CPO and they were asking $31,000.

I bought the same car. 2008 W211 with 28K miles, pano, premium package 1, and AMG sport package. Silver with grey interior.

I bought it from MB with the CPO and paid $35K when they had it listed on Cars.com for a lil under $40K. I checked out a few other similar cars with less miles from other MB dealers but chose this one because it was super clean and in immaculate condition.

Im pretty sure you can get that car for $30K from them, maybe even a lil less. MB currently offers a 1.99% financing option. So you can bring that up and the CPO and bargain down with that.

GL!

Thanks for all the answers. I can't seem to find an MB CPO for less than $36K with similar options. I will keep you posted.

Forget the CPO...

I HAD to buy my car CPO...

Then I had a overheating problem on my car after 3 weeks of ownership.

Took it to a MB dealership to fix and they said some small animal went into the fan, shorted the fan which in turn killed the thermostat and caused the overheating.

Long story short, they said because the animal was the cause, the warranty would NOT cover it and it would have to be paid for out of my pocket... $1600 bucks.

Forget the CPO. Your car will still have the factory warranty and then you can buy one of those other extended warranties after.

Anyways GL.

According to what I've read elsewhere, the smooth door panel inserts would indicate that the upholstery is MB-Tex rather than leather.

$1600!

What, exactly, did they do for $1600!. How the heck is a jammed fan going to do anything to a thermostat. Or did you end up with a blown head gasket from the over-heating?

There is a major difference in Price, because of location. Cars in SoCal are more $$$ then in Pennsylvania. That car here, in SoCal, would easily go for $36K+, could be bought for $30K if negotiated accordingly.

Also, this car has factory warranty, thus no reason for it to be a CPO. You can always buy Extended Warranty from third party at lower cost.

The car looks good from pictures!

GL with the purchase...

I stopped by the dealer yesterday and test drove the car. It drove like a new car and didn't see over issues. So, I am calling an MB dealer tomorrow to get a pre-purchase inspection appointment.

I do have couple questions:
1. Why are the AMG rims black- did they come form MB like that or were they powder coated?
2. On the trunk, I didn't see the badge E350 or 4 matic- I have never seen one like thatand wondered why this particular car didn't have one.
3. Since the badge is not there, how do I make sure it is 4matic?
3. Are there any other questions I need to ask the dealer when I take it for PPI?

Thanks for all your help and will keep you updated on the outcome.

The previous owner "de-badged" it. They're only glued on. Many times people de badge a lower level car so as not to definitively state what level their car is so it could be any level car. There are also those folks who swear that they debadge all their cars, even if its the highest level car, because they don't like badges, even though they're part of the car.

The VIN will tell all.

Thanks, Barry45RPM. Didn't know it is glued. CarFax does say it is AWD. Thanks again.

If the car has the original factory warranty still intact, it can still get CPOed by the dealer. The certification may call for changing items such as tires, brakes, oil, and other maintenance items that are not covered by any warranty.

ya, my car was CPO and it had factory warranty left. And since mine was an 04, it covered maintenance under the original warranty (minus brakes) so i got a free Service B once out of it too. Once it went over to Starmark, no maintenance. Also, when i bought the car, they performed a Service G and changed all 4 brake pads on the car.
