W211 AMG BRAKE UPGRADE

Quote: C63S Rear has a floating type caliper w/electro-mechanical so the same caliper is used for both stopping and parking, and doesn't have a drum brake so you can't upgrade to fixed type calipers.

The rear rotor is 360mm while the front is 390mm.
So there's no way around this to get a big brembo caliper on the rear?

Do you know if M3/M4 still has a hand brake or are they electronic too now as they have multi piston calipers on their rears now?

BMW M3/M4 still have drum brakes in the rear.

It's not impossible for adding fixed calipers to the rear brake for those cars w/o drum brakes (e.g. MB GT-S, C63S, and BMW M5 changed to E-M brake) but it's more involved in design and cost.

I am updating the brakes on our 2009 w211 with amg sport package.

I will need the shim kit/new bolts for the front calipers. And the shim/pins for the rear.

In your picture attached below how much would it be to get the packages circled?

Thanks,
-Nigel

We are selling the brand new AMG brake kit, not those separate parts

Can you at least then list the part number for the shim/pins for the calipers?

Thanks,

Seriously no help?? If you are selling the BBK kit you have to be ordering the hardware for it? Why can't one buy the hardware from you or you at least be able to help others with what brembo part number/MB part number that little bag that contains the pins/clips?

Check with o'riellys auto parts and give them the make and model of the car the brakes are from (2007 e63) or whatever car there from and ask if the have any brake parts.

Checked advance auto/autozone and they carry zero for it. No o'rielly's by me :-(

I posted on the AMG part and hope someone has some part numbers. I would think this isn't a hard thing to find but dang it it's proving more so than ever.

Mercedes doesn't sell those parts separately from a complete caliper order
I checked two local MB dealers already.
If someone have different luck, please let me know

Got some help from 0-55: Below are the MB part numbers for the spring clips:

front:
mercedes A 000 421 90 91

rear:
mercedes A 000 421 87 91

DCT: I get there might not be a specific one kit by MB. However in your picture you have the Brembo red packet with a part number of : 98.5030.** which I can't make out. That's helpful at least for the front if we had that Brembo part as we'd be able to get replacement parts from Brembo directly or search for it with the remaining part number.

Caliper hardware
was able to get new seals for my front calipers from o'riellys down here in stafford. My calipers are from a 2010 cls63 but they only showed the seals for a 2007-2009 e63 at 10$ a caliper I chanced it. Haven't Attempted the install yet because I have a road trip and don't want to get stranded without a car if they don't work. I can call and check tomorrow and if they have umm Iin stock I'll pick them up but most likely they will have to order them if they even have them....

Appreciate it. I'll post and up date as well what I find out.

What I did find out for sure is the following:

The seals (you need 2 off each for both sides):

A 001 421 00 86 (front caliper)
A 000 421 74 86 (rear caliper)

Springs:
A 000 421 90 91 (front caliper)
A 000 421 87 91 (rear caliper)

Pins:
A 000 420 27 82 (front caliper)
A 000 420 28 82 (rear caliper)

Bleed valves:
A 000 421 47 65 (rear caliper)
A 000 420 90 55 (rear caliper)

I hope this helps as I'll post the number once I make a new thread on the swap when I get all the parts. And depending on if we get snow in the next couple weeks... if we do then I'll just post pictures first then post the how to so I can bed the brakes in...etc.

EDIT 2:

Called the MB dealer... They want $28 and change for the rear clips EACH, and $29 and change for front clips EACH...ROFL.. GTFO of here! $172?! I almost hung up on the dude but just laughed and said thanks man.

Ordering online via mboemparts.com

Dealers blow. I can't get over how outrageous that is.

Just purchased my mothers 2010 E350 (w212 I think). And knowing myself, can't keep anything stock. Already looking at options and one of them when the time comes for a brake job is an E55 BBK kit. What do those things cost?

Thanks,
Mark

Both E55 or E63 setup will fit,

07-09 E63 comes with (6/4) F/R calipers, and they will fit either, but E63 2-piece Rotors won't fit due to differ Rotor height..!

09 "E350/E500/E550" 4-matic sport, comes with (M14) bolt Fronts & (M12) bolts Rears, same as 03-09 "E55/E63" calipers,

then why not fit..!??!,,

03-09 "E55/E63" Rotors won't fit, cause height offset is too high compared to 4-matics..!!
