Do you believe the TMV (True Market Value)?
I was looking at edmunds website and wanted to see the market value of my car - 2006 E320, CDI. It shows: Trade-in: $20,516, Private Party: $23,454, Dealer Retail: $25,671. Is it just me, or the value is really on the low side? I don't believe I can get a 2006 CDI at the dealer for around $26k, can I? And it's supposed to be TRUE market value.
On 2006 E350, Dealer retail: $22,265. Man! that's cheap!
On 2007 Bluetec, trade-in: $23k, dealer retail: $27.7k. you get the idea - too good to be true
, Or, am I an idiot?

I find edmunds to be the most accurate out of NADA, KBB and the rest
You could look at Manheim auction values
CDIs are simply not as liquid (low volume) with some diehard customers so I could easily seeing a dealer gouging someone who wants a diesel and a diesel owner having a hard time selling a car at the same time

Generally, while living in NY I would always buy and sell for less then the listed TMV. Other local factors alter the situation, even tho they use a formula to present accurate "local" numbers, real life is different.

For a true dealer trade-in value, try galves.com (fee required). Dealers consult this website for assigning values to cars being traded in.
(Note: I have no affilication with this website).

Well, if you think this is fair market values for your cars, I have nothing more to say:
2009 E350, Trade-in: $34.5k, Dealer Retail: $39.2k
2007 E350, Trade-in: $22.2k, Dealer Retail: $26.2k.
2007 E350 4MATIC: Trade-in: $23.2k, Dealer Retail: $27.5k
These are not diesel.

2007 E350, Trade-in: $22.2k, Dealer Retail: $26.2k.
2007 E350 4MATIC: Trade-in: $23.2k, Dealer Retail: $27.5k
These are not diesel.
What I think you're saying is "holy crap, my car lost 30K in value in 3yrs!!!??" Yeah, residuals on the e-class stink
As for local pricing, there was 2007 e350 with 45k miles for 21.5k firm private party sale-clean title, no stories. Most 07s I've seen were 23-26k asking price
