What is the procedure to remove the sway bar link from the sway bar ball joint - and then removing/installing the sway bar ball joint? Should i be loosening the 22mm nut to the bushing while the car is on the ground? I tried doing it while in the air, but i was afraid of stripping the threads on the joint because the joint was angled up under pressure.

My car wanders on the highways and wanted to check the sway bar joints - hoping someone would give me advice on how to check.
