Info on HP for E320, E500 E55 ??

Now that MB is getting rid of the E430, are they going to bump up the HP in the E320? and Whats going on with the E500? and E55?
I already left my $1K deposit last month...Was going to buy an S430...but the new E looks like it will be more fun,,,

The W211 E320 will have the same HP and the E500 will be similar to S500 HP.

Actually, the E500 horsepower will be identical to the S500. They will be sharing the same engine.

hey clileong,

We can only guess that the E500 and the S500 have the same HP. I will wait and see because Mercedes usually downgrades HP ratings for the lower models. Case in point:

5.5 liter engine:
S55 - 354hp
E55 - 349hp
CLK55 - 342hp

5.0 liter engine
S500 - 302hp
G500 - 292hp
ML500 - 288hp

3.2 liter engine:
E320 - 221hp
C320 - 215hp

You're right. I forgot to take the slight differences into account.

Although I must note that the SL500 contains the 5.0 V8 derived from the S500, and is tuned to the same 302-hp. Hopefully the new E500 will report the same.
