Most common cause warped motor cover, resolve: either motor replacement (link - post 73 above) or makeshift cover replacement (shown on c class / same motor for 211 & 203) https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post4245982

Same problem here
I have the same issue on a 2006 R350 Pano roof. If someone would be kind enough to send the .pdf on the repair, I'd be grateful.

pano roof proble,
New to this web site and I already got some very helpful hints. Now the panoramic sunroof will not operate and makes this very loud clicking sound that seems to be coming from underneath the light pod above the rear view mirror. Anybody have the same issue? Is it a defective motor, track, etc? Does anyone have any idea how to remove the light pod and get to the motor?
I appreciate the help and will post pics when I attempt to fix it.

Panoramic Problems
First there was the clicking noise and the shade wouldn't close, now the roof will not completely close. Right rear sticks up, any information on how to manually close with pdf, or visuals will be greatly appreciate...before I head off to a repair shop. Send info to talentz2southfl@gmail.com

I would try the Australian/New Zealand benz site, you are more likely to get a valid response than from this one.
I reckon they are a bunch of dealer-spruikers here, and won't answer anyone's questions unless it suits them! OR, they just don't know the answer.
Do as I am doing, close your account and move on!

How to remove Pano motor
Mine did a similar grinding gear sound. I used the pdf and took it apart to get the motor out, the gear cover had bent just like previously described. Instead of replacing the motor, which technically should bend again, i straightened it to close the gap then took a galvanized junction box cover from Home Depot and cut it out to the shape of the cover. Then JB Welded it onto the outside of the gear cover. Presto! Fixed and will never happen again. $1.29 well spent
Where did you find the PDF on how to get to the motor?

Need instructions to fix Pano roof clicking
I see all the posts on what can be the cause. But nothing on how to deal it.
Could someone email me a TheAlfredo@Gmail.com.
I don't want to get rid of my '04 E500. But can't see myself spending $3000+ to have it fixed.

I had the same problem with my 2008 E350. The Pano sun roof opened but would not close without pulling it forward while pressing the button. It sounded like gears were grinding. GEARS ARE GRINDING. DON'T TRY TO ACTIVATE THE SUN ROOF IF YOU HEAR THIS NOISE.
OK, Maybe just one more time to get it closed.
I fixed it today. Here's how I did it.
I linked a YouTube video below that shows the Overhead Control Panel removal.

ssunroof problems
The popping and clicking ur hearing is the gear on the end of ur sunroof motor .... it's broken they break easy I guess to save other parts u have two options once the motor is removed (easy right behind interior lights) buy a brand new motor with new gear attached or figure out a way to get old broken gear back on shift ....
