steering wheel buttons to 'settings ' then you'll have to go up/down thru date/time...when you set the time with + and - buttons it tells you "R to set" so push in the reset button (for resetting the odometer, etc) for a sec or so, til the hands start to move...they'll go allllllllllll the way forward to the new time (that means 11 hours of travel forward to get a backward adjustment)...

anyway, watch the little hands dance..eventually they might go slightly past the time, then back up and settle on it.

I find the clock adjustment quite funny. I set it ahead one hour via the MFD and then when I pushed the reset button the hands moved back about 4 hours before turning around and moving to the right position. I guess it wasn't too happy about losing one hour :p

Don't forget to set the clock on your HK system.

You access it thru the "services" button.

Why adjust the HK?

What's the need to adjust the time in the radio? It never displays. (For that matter, why does the dash let you set a date; that never displays anywhere either.)

The analog clock moves all the way back to 12:00 before adjusting to your newly set time. To minimize adjustment time, try setting the time when it's a little past 12 o'clock (am or pm).

stupid program.

I adjusted my time around 8ish Sunday and I found it moved 13 hours instead of 1 hour to 9ish.

mb needs better programmers

even my cheap vcrs know to adjust time automatically. my pda and computers know it, too. why does not my new mb know the same trick?

as BillP said, it cannot display the date, is another stupid design? (is this date for maintenance or the mb phone or decoration?)

Otto,

I'm where you are. Since all E's (maybe other models) have teleaide and GPS to know where you are (even without the Nav Option) you'd think the Multifunction system would have an option for Daylight Savings Time and time zone, e.g., ET, CT, MT, PT, etc. as you drive around between zone's the clock would auto change or at least "ask" the question to change. This would be very easy since the car also know GMT time and date. Mark

DST ALREADY SET!

I got in my 2002 E55 yesterday to set the time and the clock was already set for Daylight Savings Time. I was amazed.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS CLOCK ADJUSTMENT

Here is how to change the clock in your E class:

Via the steering wheel:

1. Scroll through the "page" buttons (look likes a page in a book) until you see "Settings"

2. Hit the "up" arrow (rt side)

3. Look for "Date/Time" (to highlight it, use the + and - signs on the right side of the steering wheel)

4. Here you are : Adjust the hours with the + or - sign.

Last step:

5. Once you're all set - Hit the "RESET" knob on the dash board (behind what would be about 9 o'clock on the steering wheel) and hold it for 3 seconds.

6. Enjoy watching your analog clock go crazy - it has a mind of its own.

Fortunately for us lucky ones downunder, our HK system comes with NAV pre-installed (although without the disk for Australian maps ... it comes with an European disk) ...

This also means that it takes the time from the GPS satellites - my MFD time setting is simply set to "synchronise with head unit" - and my clock is absolutely accurate to the second. It's wonderful listening to the time blips on news, and seeing the minute needle of the clock moving at precisely the right moment!
