07' 08' E350 Differences?

Thinking about upgrading my 03' E320 to an 07' or 08' E350. I can see the obvious external model changes from 06' to 07', but are there any subtle changes I'm missing between 07' and 08'? Wondering why some have the dual exhaust chrome tips showing and some do not..etc. Any info. would be great.

If exhaust tips are visible, then the car has the no charge "Sports Package" (Black Wood, Blue Glass, Sport Wheels, & a few extra appearance items.

Other than that, the hub covers on the wheels & the base of the hood ornament are Blue/Black wreath trimmed, not just Silver. Go with the P2 car if you can locate one. They are great cars. The '08 is also the last year with the 04 generation COMAND/Nav. After 08 they went to a new Hard Drive Based system used in all the current designed cars.

The difference in Build Quality control between your car and the 07 > are amazing. The difference between the 320 & 350 will be fabulous to you also.

so Barry, there are no differences from MY07 to MY08 other than center caps and hood star? would that also apply to the E550?

Is that a better system?

Easier to program a destination...?

Did MB make E-550 Wagons for 07/08/09, or just E-350s and AMGs...?

Can't open the brochures on E-class for 07/08/09.

Did they make E-550 Wagons for US export during the above time period?

Anybody.....?

The 2009 COMAND upgrade is the same as the newest W212 system but does it one better: you can input addresses by hand while in motion (in the W212 you cannot; except the Euro version.) It also gives you much better VC (it actually works very well inputting a destination hands-free), ZAGAT ratings, and live traffic (thru satellite radio.) Now longer DVD based, you can add files to the HDD from a SDHC flash card onto a music registry. imho, it's a major upgrade from the old system. And it's pretty close to 100% hand-free with the new VC.

There was an E500 wagon with 4Matic up until 2006 (as you know.) After that they stopped. Currently only the E350 and soon the E63 wagon will arrive according to MBUSA. Older E55 wagons are not easy to find, they built only a handful for the USA. I know of a nice rare Platinum Blue Metallic 2005 E55 wagon for sale if you're interested.

Well, yes..Always interested sort of.
Thought about getting into a 2007 E-550 Wagon, but that is out the door now.

Looked at E55s and E63s in the past, but never really thought I could justify the cash for horspeower swap especially since my E-500 is plenty peppy and under warranty for another 26 months.

That being said, what is the deal on the Blue E55 Wagon..?

I own a 550 & can't find any other differences. After years of undependable 211's (E Class) They got the cars virtually perfected in '07. I guess they didn't want to risk any problems by tampering with it in 08
