Bad Cat!
So I asked the dealer to find the exhaust rattle that I have on my CDI as I couldn't find anything on my own. They found it, the catalytic converter innards are crumbled.
THANK GOD it is still covered under warranty, a Cat on even the cheapest car is pricey as hell, I don't want to know what this one costs
Anyway, I wanted to ask you folks if replacing this will also clear up two symptoms I have had:
1) I have had the CDI power surge and periodic engine limp mode issue that I had chalked up to the EGR valve sticking. Could this instead be caused by a bad cat?
2) Aside from the rattle I also have a squeak that is speed sensitive but only happens when the car has gotten warmed. Could this also be the cat or am I looking at a bearing/mount of some sort?
