E500T 4m or E430T 4m

Any opinions on this?
I'm driving about 700km/week mostly freeways. Have used my 250 Turbodiesel (w124) for that purpose for 2 yers now. Been extremely cheap, but I want something newer with some more equipment. Vented seats and engine heater amongst other things.
And I need a V8. Know that fuel is going to be double but I'm prepared to take it. Miss my 500E to much on everyday use. I also want a 4 matic.

Just looking around a bit..

Aren't E500 T 4m supposed to be more expensive than this? It's the cheapest one on mobile.de thought..

Compared to the above, doesn't this seem a bit expensive for a w210?

(99000kr= 10.400 Euro)

Any opinons?
I guess the 430 is cheaper to maintain.. no airmatic and such.. but I thought they would be cheaper to buy compared to a 211. So I'm a bit confused on what is most value for money..

I'll post this to the w210 guys also.

Henrik,

Here in the US a 2004 model yr (which I believe your e500 wagon is) is not a good year for reliability. Moreover, the car has 200k km so you will need to inspect the transmission and 4matic components as these may not have much life left

Good luck

Thanks. Always good to inspect those things.
I'm not THAT worried about the miles on the car in general though (but maybe I should be..? :-p). I've been driving alot of old Mercs (123's and 124's) with 300-450K km on them without them showing much wear in the drivetrain. My 250 turbodiesel is still very "tight" in the driveline (manual trans) despite its roughly 350k km. The autos have a tendency to get a bit rough after alot of miles though.
Buying this one would make me a bit nervous though.. :-)

I also know the 4 matic on the 124 had some problems.. but I think they were pretty much sorted out when the 210 arrived with a simpler system..?

The W211 in the 2003-2004 era have the following issues
1) SBC brakes
2) Leaking valeo radiator contaminating and destroying the transmissions

I don't know the MB 4matic system so I can't comment on it

I would expect 150k miles or 225k-250k km out of the 5-speed tranny. Also depends how you drive

But the wagon looks awesome
