2003 E500 door handle not closing flush

2003 E500 door handle not closing flush
Today when I opened my driver's side rear door on my 2003 E500 (no keyless go), the handle made a "click" sound that it never has before. Now the back end of the door handle sticks out about a centimeter from where it normally rests. The door still opens and shuts properly from both inside and out, and locks just fine too. Is there an easy fix for this?

2003 E320 Pewter KG
i think it's the wire for the handle it should be replaced.
get a new wire
remove interior os the door and you should c the handle with the wire.
