regarding E350 ...

Though a punchier 3.5-liter version of the V6 is being phased into the M-Class SUV, Mercedes is reluctant to certify it for the E. Because of displacement-based tax regulations in numerous other countries, the United States is the only likely market. M-B would rather spend its resources on developing diesels, which it sees as the near-term future of the industry.
E350 may not come in 2004. may never come ...

according to MBUSA. An AMG version is available in Europe, but New Jersey thinks demand for that would be low here, so theyˇ¦re just offering a sport package with AMG wheels, spoilers, etc.
no AMG version of E wagon in US.

Thereˇ¦s also a redesigned nav system, which includes readouts in the speedometer, and a new Active Light System, in which the bixenon headlamps pan with steering wheel input.
nav finally comes to W211 and Active Light is available in 2004 W211.

bummer, no E350. I wonder if they can make more HP out of the 320. I don't see too many diesel sales in the US market.
