Anyone out there with the parking/reverse tilt right side mirror feature enabled in their US-spec 08 E350?
I want this feature enabled in my E350, but I don't want to waste my time and money with the dealer if this feature simply does not exist for my car.
I've tried the programming procedure described in the owners manual, but it doesn't work for my car.

I want this feature on my 08E350 too, I went to 2 different MB dealers in SoCal, both dealer told me that this feature is removed from my car, so I can not have the reverse right hand mirror tilt down. The instructions in the manual is to use the 3rd memory to set the mirror, I do not bother to do, because after parking the car, you have to reset to the memory 1 or 2. If anyone find anything different, please post. Regards.

Ditto what MB211 said, at least for the 08's .. I've had it enabled on my 08 E550. Which dealers in SoCal have you been to?

And the dealer enabled it in both my 2009 E350's.

My dealer in Buffalo told me it wasn't available on my 08 E350.

Go to Flacture JR(Newport beach)...I did mine there and its very simple.

The SA at my dealer tried for about 2min and gave up. He was clearly clueless.

Does anyone have the SDS procedure to enable? I have access to an SDS system, and would really like to have this considering W210s had it and it's clearly a software option.

All of these reply posts are great and bode well for my quest, but so far we still don't have anyone declaring they actually have a US-spec 08 E350 with the tilt mirror feature enabled.

House of Import in Buena Park & Anaheim Hill Mercedes Benz cannot do it. I am in SoCal, can you direct me to a MB dealer which can activate this feature ?. My car is 2008 E350 Sport. Please PM me. TIA.

Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach, CA can do it. That's where I had it done.

And both my E350's are U.S.-spec.

If your visit to FJ is successful, please get the name of the SA and the SDS tech who enabled the tilt mirror for you.
I may need to have my local SA talk to your SA/SDS tech in order to learn the necessary steps and lessen my time spent in the shop.

I called FJ last week to make an appointment. Yesterday I came in for a 09:00AM schedule, I came a lėttle early, my SA is Ray Schroeder, I told Ray what I want to do with the car. ̣I do not buy this car from FJ, within a minute, Ray go get a technician, which roll out the SDS mounted on a cart, Ray told me that it was done after 15 minutes and I am ready to go. There is no charge for this service. I do not not know the technician name, because I was in Ray's office while they are doing the SDS. I am happy, it work as my old E class. Thanks everyone direct me to the right place to get this done. Cheers......

it doesnt matter if its a US or Euro spec car because they all have this option. it just need to be activated.

Late this afternoon, I called Ray, the SA at FJ's in Newport Beach, and he definitely remembered the recent SDS mod on the 08 E350 to enable the tilt/parking mirror. I asked if he or the SDS tech would provide me with the steps needed to do the mod. He respectfully declined my request, but offered that he would welcome any MB dealer SA to give him a call about this when your car is in the shop for the software mod, and he will have his SDS tech get on the phone with your dealer's SA or SDS tech and explain the steps needed.
That's good enough for me.
