Passenger Side wiper

My passenger side wiper abruptly stopped working yesterday during a rain storm. Any ideas on what could be the cause before i head to the stealership?

The old 124 cars had a uniwiper that used a cam arrangement that made the arm sweep across the windshield and also extend vertically so that it cleared a more rectangular area. Admittedly a poor description of how the thing worked.
Nevertheless, I have noticed that the passenger side wiper arm on the 211 car has a similar arrangement although it is not nearly as noticeable. Heaven knows what kind of trickery they use to get the arm to move in three directions but your problem does not appear to be a simple fix. Sorry, but I have not heard of anyone else having that kind of trouble (yet)

Check the bolts that hold the passenger side wiper in place, they may have come loose and just need tightening.

You can also try removing the wiper arm(s) and checking for motion on the wiper mount screw (turn the wipers on and verify that the mount screw pivots - no motion would indicate a wiper motor problem).

Its either the transmission or the bolts are loose or stripped. You can go to any online mercedes parts and lookup the wiper mechanism and see what could have failed.

I just had this happen on my 03 E500 this morning (In the rain...pass side stopped: Drivers side works fine). Checked after the rain stopped and the pass is free...no binding. will dig into it this weekend. After looking at the EPC it looks like the arm that drives the pass wiper might have dropped off...or sheared.
