03 E500 Sport, 03 Eddie Bauer Explorer, 06 Pro Street Chopper

MAF error code

03 E500, I'm getting a "MAF or VAF A Ckt Rng Perform" code reading from my scanner. MAF = mass air flow sensor, what is VAF or are these 2 of the same things? And can you tell me if there's a way to test these items or should I just replace them?

I have a working used one, if you want to try it out first, before buying one.
