P-B-42.46/43 JUN04 Squeaking Noise When Gently Applying Brake
There are several threads for this problem but non of them offer a permanent solution. It seems like the break system takes in air and that SDS is needed to get the air out.
My '06 E500 is in the shop for the 3rd time for this problem and what irks me is that there is no solution to this. Where does the air come from? I would think that this is a closed system?
The DTB is here ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/eurotec/2010-06-23_195335_sbc_bulletin.pdf.
konigstiger posted this : https://mbworld.org/forums/1571764-post2.html but I haven't been able to find a solution apart from what is in the DTB.
Have anyone else encountered this and found a permanent solution? So far this has been done under warranty but with that running out mid next year I don't want to front the bill when/if it happens again.

My car had been in for this DTB, however the sound eventually comes back.
The noise is like a "mouse farting" when gently applying the brake. It is more noticeable when the car has been sitting for several days.
I'm now out of warranty, but after driving the car for a day, the sound goes away, only to return once the car sits again.
It's somewhat annoying to listen to, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the braking of the vehicle.
Only time will tell if MB will have major lawsuits due to the SBC brake system. As you may not know, MB has extended the SBC warranty to 10 years from beginning date of service of your vehicle.

I would think that a car with performance brakes that an occasional squeak is normal. I have another car with some pretty big Brembo brakes in it and even from the factory those brakes squeak. Good luck getting it resolved.

This noise is NOT a pad squeal. It's a pedal squeak due to air being in the SBC system.
