Have you guys heard about the CTS V-series?

400hp, 396 ft-lb of torque, Brembo brakes, estimated price of 45k - looks like I might have to trade in my 302hp, 62k E500!! Wow.

What would be really sweet is if the V-series had the same depreciation as the rest of the Cadillac lineup - then one could pick it up for about 35-40k after a year!

Sounds like relatively good bang for the buck, but if I wanted an ugly fast car I would get the STi in a heartbeat.

The specs are nice but the CTS is one of those cars that I can rule out simply based on looks. It's even uglier than the Aztek!!!

Speaking of Azteks...

Reminded me of a story a friend mentioned a while back about a divorce court battle. The husband was ordered by the judge to purchase appropriate transportation for the wife.

The husband was stuck, so he came up with a creative solution. His wife enjoyed japanese brands so he went out and purchased an ugly-*** yellow Aztek for his ex-wife. She was cursing him to the moon but could not complain, because as far as the court was concerned the husband had fulfilled his obligations.

Such poetic justice, if only all ex-husbands had such creativity

Actually, CTSv look is improved since. And GM targets MB vehicles as SL500 - XLR and C32 - CTSv.

However, I do not see anyway how this car can compete with E55, or even E500.

FORGET the specs...the car is hideous inside and out!

GM may 'target' MB...seems to me they missed the mark (again).

I've been "targeting" Laetitia Casta for a couple of years now... I've had the same amount of success that GM is going to have getting E55 owners into that fugly car.

I really would like the Subaru STi if I had room for another car... it's ugly but is going to be just killer...

I don't know...it looks kinda cool. At ~45k it's not too expensive either.

CADILLAC *shivers* I'm luv jap cars for reliability and outrageous capabilities to pump out horsepower. Mercedes are just plain old cool. American cars? BAH! plain old crap regardless of bang for the buck.

Grow up. Only five year olds make such ignorant, all encompassing statements. Did daddy just buy you a CLK55 or what? Oh I know, he did buy you one and you got your doors sucked off by a Viper

Perhaps....

It may take me a while to assimilate the lines of the CTS. The angular lines and slab-sided body does not appeal to me.

Specs and price are interesting though. Hopefully competition will improve the breed.

No, daddy didn't buy me a CLK55, he got me a diesel . Even if i did get the option, i won't get a CLK55 since i don't have the wealth to back it up.

Love is blind

I say dont get the CTS and get the WRX, i heard the non STi can be modded up to 400hp or something, but the STi doesnt just compress, or something like that. i can't remember the exact stuff someone on this forum said.

hehe... I know it's not a pretty sight, but hey... I do think it looks a little bit better than the EVO :p

The regular WRX can be made to go pretty fast for relatively low $$$ Coilovers, brakes, upgraded turbo/management and you've got a fast but stilll funky looking car. One guy who hangs out with the S2000 club has done his WRX up just like that. 320hp to the wheels! He's getting his STi soon. If I had room for another car, I'd really consider his WRX.

What is WRX, something from Nissan? I heard that Nissan makes really good cars. I also heard that CTSv has only manual transmission, so it makes it unusable for certain type of people who is looking for luxury first.
