Anyone know how to remove the trim where the door meets the window? I need to take it off and paint it because of the oxidation.
Thank you

Is this not painted the same way the car is painted? Mine is the same way and it drives me crazy. I originally thought it was just regular rubber and would clean up but no go. I'm really interested in how your paint job turns out.

You can lift this trim up by hand, starting at the back edge of the front door trim, (front edge of the rear door trim). The trim is held in place by friction-type clips. Sometimes it's necessary to use a flat-bladed screwdriver to gently pry the trim up (with a protective piece of heavy plastic or cardboard under the blade) to avoid scratching your paint. These trim pieces are actually finished with a dark anodized coating over stainless steel; they start to fade out fairly quickly when exposed to UV light outdoors. You can remove the original pieces and have them powder-coated (that's what i did with mine, they look great) or vinyl film wrapped. You can also buy new trim, although the fading will start to occur again within 2-3 years.

Wax did not work. I got some gloss black vinyl wrap and tried that. It looks good, but I need to remove the horizontal door trim to install it properly without wrinkles.
I put the wrap on the vertical trim strip on the back window and it looks perfect.
I'll tackle the rest when I have a little more time. Thanks for the instructions Foreyes!
