Unhappy 06 E350 Transmission Issue- HELP!!!

I own a 2006 E350... I bought it with 32k milles. Shortly after it was purchased I noticed the RPM's would go up but the cars speed didn't. I took it to the MB dealership and they said there was nothing wrong. 4k miles later the RPM issue was still happening so I took my car to a different MB dealership. This dealership performed "short test" and found "NO RELEVANT FAULT CODES IN THE ME AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT".

6 months ago (74k miles) I took my car back to the MB dealership because of the RPM problem and now there was a whunning noise coming from the engine and the noise got louder with the speed. I was told a front pump needed to be replaced due to brass material found in a pan. Per the mechanics recommendation I had the service performed for $1600.

Today my car has 84k miles and the check engine light is on. I took the car back to the MB dealership because the car jumps while accelerating. The MB dealership advised that the "TRANS VALVE BODY" needs to be replaced for $2100.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. It seems like my car has had this trans issue since the time I purchased it and now that the warrenty has expired the dealership is trying to take me for every penny. Can anything be done at this point or am I out another $2100??? Can anyone help....

Since you're out of warranty I'd find a reputable mechanic who specializes in MB or German cars. Since you already know what the problem is you can get a quote from them on that specific service. I would never get my car serviced at the dealer out of warranty. Labor costs are just a rip off. Often, if you know what parts need to be replace you can get them off the web for a discount and just have the indy mechanic install them and just pay for labor.

After the proper reapair is completed you'll need someone with SDS or other high end scanner to erase the code. OBDii won't do the job.

Had the same problem, but I was fortunately under extended warranty. If MB won't fix a known defect even if out of warranty, find a good Independent.
