Looking to get a good deal on the new E

Im new here but been checking out this site for sometimes now. One of the best benz forum out there.
Heres my question I hope you guys can help me out. How and where can I get a good deal on the car? Man, I've been seeing bunch of you getting really nice deals on these things but I cant. I checked out carsdirect.com and they quoted me a E320 with all the options I wanted at 54K with 12K down @ 600 a month lease. What do you guys think? I really want to get a new E class, the car is just too amazing.

Start by talking to local dealers.
I am not sure where So Kali is or market conditions, but market is usually based upon supply and demand.
Keep in mind that selling price is separate issue than finance terms.
Selling price is based on market.
Lease / purchase tems are more a function of credit rating and to lessor degree geographical area.
Based upon posts in this forum you surely have a reasonable baseline.
Good luck and hope it works out for you.

Getting a good deal on an E

I would suggest using edmunds.com or comparable websites to request quotes from local dealers. You can request a quote on a model with the exact options you want. The principal advantage of doing this is that, at least in my area, it appears that dealers have two sets of prices: what they quote to persons who come in off the street; and what they are willing to quote to persons who inquire through the internet. I learned that two dealers in my area were quoting, for an E500, at or very near invoice price to internet customers, while they were quoting $2 k or more higher to regular shoppers. This may also reflect the lousy economy, but it is worth taking advantage of while it lasts.

You must mean finance rather than lease, right? I wouldn't advise putting money down on a lease (or very little), but $12K is crazy. With that cash you should finance it and use that as your down payment, or lease and accept the higher payment with little down and invest the $12K. You should be able to get a nicely-equipped E320 for about $700/month with $0 down anyways. I think the going price is roughly invoice, or even below if you go to the right dealer. Good luck to you!

Welcome, EStyle! I'm presuming sokali is Southern California--just a guess. If yes, try Mercedes Benz of Long Beach. Go with a printout of invoice prices from Edmunds.com. If you're leasing, they were selling right at invoice price when I bought back at the end of January. You can probably do better now. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the input, I really appreciate it.
Yes thats right 12k down with 600 a month lease on a 54k E320.
700 a month with no down? Is that possible? I would take that offer in a heartbeat. Which dearlers can do that. Please give me some more info.
Anyone else knows any dealerships in southern california or any where in the U.S. (im willing to drive) that can make a good offer with less down? TIA

Below is one link as an example --- in the $700s for an E500 (!) with $0 down. You can easily get a nice E320 under $700/month without a down payment in the current market. I'd post another message asking SoCal E owners to post dealer and salesperson info where they got exceptional deals. I've seen MB of Long Beach and House of Imports (Buena Park) mentioned several times, and I remember someone getting a ridiculous deal at MB of Laguna Niguel as well. These cars are sitting on the lots and deals are out there for the taking! Just don't be afraid to negotiate the heck out of it --- by the time you're done, you'll save $10,000 compared to what you first posted.

Estyle, you have a lot of work to do. This does not make sense. Are you sure the 12k means "down" and not "miles", 12k down sould cut the payment by at least $308 a mo. on a 39 mo lease not $100. I was quoted $699 a mo on a 39 mo.lease 12k miles, 0 down, 54k list price.

I just picked up my E500, $819 mo, 39 mo lease, $61k list. $0 down.

I hope this helps, good luck

My advice is to send a mass e-mail to all Southern California MB dealers telling them what model and options you want. You should also include a reasonable yet aggressive pricing parameter and see if they can meet it. For example. you priced the options and the MSRP is in the mid-50's. Since you are looking for a lease tell them you are willing tp pay $3,000 as drive-off, $500/month including tax for 39-month lease and 15,000-20,000 miles per year and if they can meet your terms, you will take immediately delivery. Those numbers are not unreasonable, but "soft"; however, they will give you a good base to work with. A totally unreasonable number may result in a non-response from the MB dealers. BTW, I got my car from Simonson in Santa Monica (e-mail Hamlet) and he was able to get me a deal of $4,000 drive-off, $560/month including tax for 39 months and 15,000 miles per year. Good luck
