Thanks Enrique. I learn something new everyday. By the way, I just got off the phone with a guy here in LA and he has a set of brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (245/35/19 and 275/30/19) with the stickers still on all 4 tires. He is going to sell the set and personally deliver to my home for only $650. Now that is a deal!
John: I guess I'll be running with a new set of tires by July.

Tbone: I just replied to your PM asking me the same questions. In case you didn't receive my PM the ride is a bit more stiff versus stock but that is anticipated anytime you lower a car because you have a lower center of gravity and less "cushion" for your suspension to massage the ride. Nonetheless I still feel it more comfortable than my 5 series with 18" wheels. I especially think that pressing the first bar on the suspension is the best ride for me because it is stiff but not too lofty. The second bar on the suspension is too stiff, especially for the rear passengers. Of course, I do have to be more mindful for dips, speed bumps or potholes.

Speedy: Nice car!! I'm surprised however that you experience rubbing when you reverse. What are the widths of your wheels and what are the tire sizes? Do you have airmatic? If yes, what module did you have installed? If no, how did you lower your car? I have airmatic and I experience no rubbing whatsoever either going forward or reverse and I did not roll my fenders.

tire size
My tire size are 245/35/19 (frount) 275/35/19 (backs) and brabus lowred my car but i dont know how they did it. it dose not rub alot but if i have my wheel turned all most all the way and start to back up then i get a slight rub in my front right wheel well.

Speedy: That's weird. You should contact Brabus or whoever lowered your car and find out what they can do to fix the problem. I don't think that you should need to roll your fenders. I know that crazy4cars has the exact same tire measurements and he has no rubbing problems.

is that rear tire size posted correctly? 275/35/19 or 275/30/19? If it's the former, that may be why u're rubbing. It may be too tall. Is the offset of your rim correct?

Jose, your car really looks good, not at all "ghetto." I think 19s are the perfect size for the new E class.
I'm not sure what Aaron was trying to say by posting a picture of the new 5 series, but that car looks like a cartoon compared to the E class. BMW's designers are way off in my opinion.
Nice choice on the wheels and the car.

Jose, your car looks awesome. Wheels are racey and classy!! now for my dumb question ...... is the height of the tire and wheel the same as stock combination and if not, is that why you lowered your car?
Thanks

I think your car looks HOT! I love LD1's, they are my favorite rim.
I disagree that LD1's are ghetto. They are a little more flashy, but retain enough class. HRE's typically are pretty classy, which I also like. I always felt that the typical AMG rims are pretty boring, in my opinion.
Now, it could be the most classy rim in the world, but if it is a knockoff, then all bets are off. Wanna talk about ghetto, I just saw what the driver displays is his "C24" AMG, with spinning rims that were obviously the cheapest looking spinning rims you could find, and looked the part. Me and my friends were laughing.

IMO - LD1's - not ghetto, but VERY flashy.
Any rim with spinners - regardless of cost.
Might as well put some neon under the car and little LED windshield washers and light-up exhaust and big gt wing while you're at it...

Thanks for the compliments guys!
MBprince: As you know, I had the stock 17" sport wheels/tires and it was about 2-3 fingers between the top of the tire to the fender. When I had the 19" wheels/tires put on, the gap was about 5 fingers (my whole hand). That's why I had the car lowered to about 1 finger all the way around. Hope this helps.

thanks, that does help joseesq. then I guess the change in diameter would have an effect on the accuracy of the speedometer. what do you do about that? thanks

I have LOVED the LD1 since crazy4cars had them fittted, but cannot find a UK supplier.
If anyone from England reads this and knows where to source them, and get them fitted with a lowering kit then please let me know.
I think Joseesq's car looks teriffic.
In England we say "its the dogs bollocks"
And believe me - it is.......
Well done
Marc

MBprince: You may be right and the different diameter may affect the speedometer. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the car tested for accuracy.
Marc777: Thanks!
Jl88: You are right. There are so many LD1 knock-offs, especially in LA. The good thing is that if you know your wheels you can spot the "ghetto" LD1 replicas in a heart-beat. The difference between the two is night and day. Unfortunately, there aren't many wheels which fit the W211 that have a deep lip (i.e., 3.5 inches in the rear)--which is my preference.
