Can the integraded phone be installed later?
New to your forum and I'm looking at the 03 E-320. Would like to have the intergraded phone but dealer quoted around $4000. Does anyone know if it can be installed later? I'm thinking about buying the system later and installing it myself. $4000 seems high when I've seen retail price around $2000. Am I missing something?

Actually, the phone costs cheapest when ordered with the car from the factory, I believe the cost then is around $1600. A dealer install costs $400 extra, bumping the cost to around two grand.
If you happen to have ordered the Voice Module, then you will be waiting a long time. That bumps the cost (through the dealer), another $600 or so. For a grand total of $2600 with Voice Activated Features. I paid that amount, although, I have yet to see the VA module.
Is it worth it? Depends on what the phone means to you. To me the safety of an integrated, hands-free unit outweighs all other factors, including costs.
p.s. Your dealer is ripping you off if you are being asked to pay $4000.

I agree with Monakh, $4,000 sounds ridiculous. My V60 was installed at the dealer for the $1625 price plus installation. I think $400. It is a nice feature and works fairly well. Especially if you're in your car a lot. It does have an annoying tendency to not "sync" up when you start the car. At least a couple of times a week for me. Unplug the phone, put back in etc.
