HID Kit - error code only when

Recently installed the DDM Tuning HID Kit, without the error eliminators. And interesting that I've discovered that all works perfectly fine with no error codes - if I'm set to manual mode to turn on headlights and etc.

But when I set the system with lamp circuit headlight = constant (meaning daylight running mode on), the system after 5 mins will trigger an error code.

Humm, so why would the system trigger the error code in daylight mode and not in manual mode?

Thanks,

I do not believe you can have the daytime running lights activated. I leave the switch in auto and do not activate daytime running. You may want to read more on this i the HID sticky.

To rsmith7: Yes, but there's actually several headlight modes we have on our W211. 1) total manual mode, 2) auto mode with daylight running mode on, or 3) auto mode with daylight running mode off. Its that mode #2 that only triggers the error code. I believe what's happening that with the daylight running mode on and during bright situations, the system is running at partial watts/amps and in combination with only running 35W, ie. something less than 35W, it'll trigger the error code being less than 35W. In the other mode, the full 35W is drawn.

To M-bENZ: I got this about a month ago. And it sat on my workbench for awhile. So I had ordered this over a month ago or longer.

Usually in daytime running mode, the headlights run at reduced power. Hence, your ballasts aren't getting enough juice to run properly, and its triggering the error code.

Yes, that's what I thought. Anyone know what is the reduced power in daylight running mode?
